| I'm still alive :) ...Summer 2008 was great. I lived in Columbus and took summer classes... Jared graduated with his B.S in Geographic Information Systems...I got a great new job...a very, very special baby boy was born...took my first GRE and got a high score (yay!)...Alison and Paul finally got married but I missed it because of family vacation (at least vaca was fun!)...had my 21st birthday...Jenna got married to Nathan Washatka (yay!)...I got to see half of my India team at a wedding in western Kansas (amazing!)...I'm not entirely sure what else to talk about, so here's some random pictures from summer. Next up in life: Jared was offered a position as a Geo-Spatial Analyst! :) The job is located about 30 min south of Nashville, so if anyone likes Nashville, let me know. I'll be looking for people to road-trip with me. :) Fall quarter starts Sept 24. I'm taking two speech and hearing classes and a 700 level Neurology class. Ahh! Technically, I'm already a senior and will probably be graduating after winter quarter (March 2009). woohoo! This fall, I'll be working my butt off to boost my GPA before applying to grad schools. I need to apply around Jan 1. Can't wait for football season!!
Celebrating the job offer... ...and trying to get as much time together as we can before he moves to TN.

| This is my grandparents' house during the summer. I'm actually here now--it looks a lot different right now, but it's still so peaceful here. :) | | |
| 1111 days that I've been on xanga!! Kind of a funny number, right? Congrats to ALLLLLLLL the couples who got engaged this past holiday season. Seems like there were a lot of you this time! :) Let's see, in my life... Brian Regan (the comedian) is wonderful, I eat a lot of rice and drink WAY too much coffee. The new quarter at OSU will be sufficiently challenging, yet enjoyable. Good combination. Jared is great. I'm really happy with the friend's I've made here, especially the girls in my Bible Study group. I am possibly obsessed with running--now if only I can quit having knee pain, I'll be great, right?? My high mileage so far is ten miles, but that was in November, then the injuries started. I should be back up to ten or twelve by the end of the month. mmm...my roommate actually just put my Brian Regan DVD in so I'm gonna go watch it! :) | | |

| I just wanted to vent real fast... I hate when people define themselves by believing that they are one of those people who don't fit into any box. Do you know those types? The ones who can sit around for hours debating the truth in any philosophy, not because they're the open-minded, accepting individual they're trying to portray themselves as, but because they find it impossible to know what they actually believe. They try to prove to everyone by the way they act, the music they listen to, the poetry or deep meditations they write and the way they dress (etc) that they can't be defined and that society has no grip on them, even though by everything I just described, they fit into a stereotype. It's not that debating philosophy is bad or that dressing differently is a crime. I'm all for it! Just for goodness sake, have an opinion of your own! Believe that SOMETHING is right, even if it's not what I believe because then at least you'll have some kind of backbone! Have an answer for a question, rather than another question. Have a REASON for what you do rather than just showing us that you're not like us. WHY aren't you like us? Maybe we aren't actually that different and you've bought into a stereotype about ME. Frankly, some of you are flat out snobby. You're not above me, more "intellectual," "sensitive," or "globally-aware" than I am just because I look and possibly even act (which you won't know about at first glance either, by the way) somewhat mainstream. Augh! Don't know if this made sense, but I feel slightly better. | | |
